Cheese Lovers, Don't Delay

"Tickets are selling fast," say the Artisan Cheese Fest people.

CHEESE NOW: Taking an urgent tone with a party that's based around creamy deliciousness is never advised, and yet we feel compelled. When we talked about the Artisan Cheese Festival, it was just days after the new year. Meaning lots of people probably had holiday leftovers in the fridge, and a springtime festival focusing on chevre and blue varieties and everything that is goatly and good probably didn't make some radars. We're here to try for those radars again, because the Petaluma-based dairy to-do is just days away. How "days away" is this thing? It's going down from Friday, March 23 through Sunday, March 25. And here's the kicker: The Artisan people said "tickets are selling fast," which mean if you want to spend the first weekend of spring gnawing at a spicy, dill-veined triangle of cheddar, you gotta act now.

EVENTS WE'RE LIKING: Yeah, it is true. If "craft brews" and "cheese" is in the title of anything -- a book a movie, a seminar -- we're just about dropping everything. There just happens to be a seminar devoted to pairings on March 24. And the grand tasting on Saturday night means we can snack at just about everything. Several of the events are sold out, but there are a number of good ones still on the docket. Really, we were talking about this at the new year, but maybe people were cleaning up the bubbly bottles and confetti. But there's still time, Petaluma-going cheese lover. There's still time.
