Santa Cruz Blues Festival

BOZ AND BLUES: The Santa Cruz Blues Festival is just a year shy of hitting its 20th, which means that it has now reached that point where the best roots and blues players are eager to be a part. So now that we've made that big statement, who is joining the 2011 show, which is scheduled for the Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend? Boz Scaggs is the Sunday, May 29 headliner. Lido, whoa-oh-oh-ohhh. Yeah, you're singing it, so sing it loud. We love that song, and we imagine hearing it live is quite a treat.

THE ROSTER: Experience Hendrix is the Saturday headliner (you'll also want to be there on the earlier side for Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue and the other acts set to take the stage). A two-day general admission is $120, but you can purchase single days, too. And if this whole thing sets you in a true Bozian mood, as it well should, you'll want to seek out a bottle of wine from his Oakville plot, we imagine. Don't show with it at the fest -- no alcohol is allowed -- but best chill it for your arrival at home.
