Sommelier Doc to Premiere in Napa

Has a film ever fit with a festival quite as well?

CINEMA AND SETTING: There's something very satisfying about watching a film in a building or location that has something to do with the topic. Oh, think of watching a Disney flick on the Disney studio lot, for example. Or a surfing documentary in Huntington Beach. It is a special moment that doesn't come along all that often, but it will again, at the Napa Valley Film Festival. The autumntime cinema feast, which is set to roll again from Wednesday, Nov. 7 through Sunday, Nov. 11, will feature a location-perfect world premiere: "SOMM." Three guesses as to what the doc is about? You won't need 'em: It "follows four talented young sommeliers as they cram for the grueling, notoriously difficult Master Sommelier exam." Hmm. Sommeliers, wine... We suppose that has something to do with Napa, right?

WE TEASE: This is going to be a major fest event, and word is the filmmakers'll be around town, chatting, and possibly sipping vino, with the fans. That's fun. That's film fest style. There will also be "multiple opportunities" to catch the flick, which doesn't always happen during a five-day cineparty. The teaser is below, but click over the the NVFF site to get more info on one of the best fests in any wine country anywhere.
