TedxSantaCruz is on Saturday, June 11.
CONCEPT CONFAB: Active minds need rest now and then, and that's why June was created. (We actually don't know why June was created, but we're glad that it now is seen as coming at the end of most school years.) But when an event devoted to the sharing of ideas and gleaning of fresh information happens in June, we heartily encourage everyone to strap those backpacks back on, or their thinking caps, or their idea corsages, or whatever they need to don to learn better. Because the event must be special. And TedxSantaCruz certainly will be, since the theme is engage! Oh yeah. Exclamation points all around.
GET KNOWING: The date is Saturday, June 11 and the place is Cabrillo College Music Recital Hall in Aptos. The Tedly Santa Cruz Facebook page is listing a whole caboodle of interesting speakers who will talk on the topic of engaging. And if you know Ted, and we bet you do, you know that the stories on engaging will themselves be pretty engaging. There's less talking at and more connecting with. There were about 20 tickets left as of early Tuesday, so if you want to get on it, and you have a shine for Santa Cruz -- and who doesn't? -- best engage now.
UPDATE: Those tickets went went went -- people definitely want to be engaged -- but a viewing party is coming together at Santa Cruz Digital Media Factory. Here's info.
