San Jose's Mike Honda has just wound up his 16-year congressional run (2001 to 2017). During his time on the hill, his support of legislation led to the passing of numerous successful bills and acts.
In 2008, he worked with then-senator Barack Obama to enhance federal coordination for supporting science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) programs in public schools. Additionally, he was an avid supporter of and advocate for the Affordable Care Act, LGBT equality, and minimum wage increases.
Now, after his esteemed career in Washington, he is back home in the Bay Area! The Japanese American Citizens League (JACL) will be sponsoring a celabration in his honor on October 21 in San Jose.
Join NBC Bay Area's Mike Inouye to say thanks, ask questions, and hear stories from Mr. Honda
