Music in the Park: Los Lobos Kicks off Concert Series

Music in the Park returns with three-time Grammy Award-winning musicians Los Lobos to star as the first concert series in downtown San Jose on June 24, 2016. This is San Jose’s ultimate downtown outdoor live music festival. The series has been on the comeback trail since being revived in 2013 and last year seemed to draw a good mix of downtown workers, residents and families to three shows at Plaza de Cesar Chavez. The 5:30 p.m. show at Plaza de Cesar Chavez will be opened by South Bay blues guitarist Maxx Cabello, Jr., and stay tuned for announcements about the remaining three shows in the series. Advance tickets are available for $10. Los Lobos is influenced by rock and roll, Tex-Mex, country, folk, R&B, blues, brown-eyed soul and traditional music such as cumbia, boleros and nortenos. Over three decades, their raw intensity garnered three Grammys and legions of fans. Maxx Cabello, Jr. has opened for Earth, Wind, and Fire, John Lee Hooker and BB King.
