Walk For Life Stand Up In Style For Domestic Violence Awareness

Stand up to domestic violence in National Domestic Violence Awareness Violence Awareness Month! Damashata Washington, a survivor and founder of Walk for Life, a fashion and entertainment showcase on October 8, 2016 at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds. There will be vendor booths open at 3 pm and the program goes from 5-8pm. Proceeds will benefit Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence, Santa Clara.

“We’re excited about bringing this event to San Jose; we’ve seen an increase in domestic violence and other crimes here,” Washington says. “We also wanted to create a fashion show with a cause; this one celebrates freedom and empowerment for victims and survivors.” Washington conceived the idea for Walk For Life when she was given an assignment to design a mock event while working on one of her college degrees, a Bachelor of Science in Technical Management.

This will be a night of celebration through music, dance, poetry, fashion, and inspirational speaking by Special guest speakers Pastor Ramone Curtis AKA "agerman" from 3xKrazy and Christopher Ellis, raising awareness against violence!
