The 37th San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival

One of the largest, longest-running and most respected festivals of world dance and music opened today with two Hawaiian hula companies in the San Francisco City Hall rotunda.

The 37th San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival is a month-long occasion which continues through June 27 with performances of dance and music traditions from around the world at the Palace of Fine Arts Theatre in San Francisco.

The Festival will continue at the Palace of Fine Arts Theatre from June 6-27, for performances featuring dance and musical traditions from China, Europe, Guinea, Hawaii, India, continental US, and Uzbekistan. Each weekend's program includes nine or ten dance performances in a two-hour show, with numerous cross-cultural, collaborative, and transitional pieces
