Oakland rapper Kafani is shot following a filming of a rap video.

A 33-year old rapper is in critical condition after he was shot "several times" in East Oakland while shooting a music video, according to reports.

Amir Rashad, who raps and performs as Kafani, was shot at 11:36 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Seminary Avenue and Foothill Boulevard, the Oakland Tribune reported.

He and associates were on scene shooting a rap video and were asked to stop by a passer-by, the newspaper reported. The film crew was breaking up and leaving when the man who asked them to stop shot Rashad "several times," the newspaper repored.

Rashad, of Oakland, is a founder of Babyface Assassins, the newspaper discovered. He was on scene in November 2011 when eight people where shot, including a 23-month old baby who later died.

The toddler's father, Hiram Lawrence, also shot a music video before the shooting, the newspaper reported.
