Rap Star Kendrick Lamar's “Alright” Video Features Oakland, Treasure Island

Rap star and Los Angeles native Kendrick Lamar has released a video for his new single "Alright," shot partially in Oakland and on Treasure Island.

East Bay Express reported that the Bay Area portion of the video was shot on May 22. Extras, such as local rappers Los Rakas, were recruited to film with Lamar on Treasure Island, including a scene where Lamar is hanging upside down from a crane.

Director Colin Tilley had the video shot in black and white.

Lamar returns to the Bay Area next month to perform at Outside Lands in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park.
