San Francisco Ballet Orchestra Scores Three Grammy Nominations

San Francisco Ballet Orchestra has been named a part of three Grammy nominations for playing on the original album for the musical "Ask Your Mama: 12 Moods for Jazz," based on the 1961 book by Langston Hughes.

The album has been nominated for Best Engineered Album, Classical; Producer of the Year, Classical; and Best Classical Compendium. 

Recorded at Skywalker Sound, the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra performed as part of an ensemble that also included "The Tonight Show's" own The Roots, rapper Medusa, sopranos Janai Brugger and Angela Brown and jazz singer Nnenna Freelon.

Grammy winners will be crowned on Feb. 15, 2015.
