During a Thursday taping of "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert," Uber CEO Travis Kalanick was heckled by an audience member who asked about the ride service's effect on the taxi industry in New York City.
Several journalists from Business Insider who were in the studio audience reported that the heckler accused Uber of "destroying taxi industry jobs." Colbert reportedly let him express himself because he already planned to broach the subject with Kalanick, but Kalanick did not address it.
According to Wall Street Journal, the show opted not to air footage of the incident.
That hasn't stopped it from being a hot topic on social media.
