The commander of the Special Operations Division of the District of Columbia police department was apparently unaware of the police escort provided to actor Charlie Sheen last week.
In an email obtained Monday by The Associated Press, Commander Hilton Burton demands details about the escort given to Sheen on the way to his performance at DAR Constitution Hall.
In the email, Burton wrote that questions about the Sheen escort are why they should not be provided to just anyone. He also demands to know how it was approved and seeks other logistical information.
Sheen posted on Twitter last Tuesday night that he had received an escort and included a picture of a speedometer registering about 80 mph. Police Chief Cathy Lanier has said several policies appear to have been violated.
