Limited Access to Cemetery for Anniversary of Michael Jackson's Death

Details are still being worked out, but it appears fans will be able to pay their respects to the King of Pop at a Glendale cemetery later this moth.

Michael Jackson fans will have the opportunity to visit Forest Lawn cemetery in Glendale to observe the first anniversary of the singer's death, it was reported Tuesday.

Forest Lawn is working with the Jackson family "for some kind of commemoration," Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz told the Los Angeles Times:

Under the arrangement expected to be finalized this week, fans of the King of Pop will be allowed to pay their respects on the cemetery grounds but not at the Great Mausoleum, where Jackson's body was interred in September, said Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz.

Exactly how close mourners will be able to get to the Great Mausoleum is still being discussed, the newspaper reported.

Jackson died June 25, 2009, from "acute propofol intoxication," according to the Los Angeles County Coroner. The singer was 50 years old.

His cardiologist, Dr. Conrad Murray, was charged with involuntary manslaughter in Jackson's death. Murray has pleaded not guilty.
