Courtney Love faces eviction from the $27,000-a-month historic New York townhouse, which her landlord claims she's "ruined" and could have burned down — while allegedly not paying her rent.

E! Online reports that the former Hole frontwoman is being hit up for two months, or $54,000, in back rent by the owner of the West Village townhouse she rented back in March.

Kurt Cobain's widow first got in hot water (er, fire) with the 1827 building's owner in June when a blaze, apparently ignited by a candle near a curtain, broke out in the house and sent some linens up in smoke. Her landlord, Donna Lyon and her company Astor Street Partners, claim the fire left burn marks in the apartment, too.

Now, Lyon is taking Love to court with eviction proceedings. According to a statement from the Lyon's lawyer, Love wallpapered and repainted some of the home's walls, some of which had vintage coverings or glaze, without the landlord's permission, in violation of her lease.

"It is tantamount to destroying a work of art," the owner's lawyer said of Love's redecorations, according to the New York Post. The house had been decorated professionally and featured in an issue of "ELLE Decor" before Love moved into it.

The landlord said it would take at least 12 weeks and $100,000 to get the three-bedroom, five-bath house back to the way it was before Love got her hands (and wallpaper) on it.
