Comedian David Cross said earlier this week in a stand-up routine that he pulled a major no-no at the White House Correspondents' Dinner earlier this year, snorting cocaine while he was "super close to the president" and other White House higher-ups seated near him on a dare from a friend.

Cross said in a stand-up routine Wednesday that he one-upped a friend in a competition to be the most outrageous by pulling out the drug during the annual White House press gala, Politico reported, as the comedian snorted coke just "40 feet" from the leader of the free world.

"It's crazy and there's security, Secret Service is standing there," said Cross, who's starred on TV shows like "Arrested Development" and made appearances in the "Scary Movie" franchise films.

"I'm there and the president is right here and with all these people at the table," Cross did cocaine -- "maybe 40 feet from the president of the United States!"

The other Washington elite Cross hid the drugs from? Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia and "the editor-in-chief of the USA Today," Cross said.

"No way you can ever top that," Cross said he texted his buddy.

Cross said he attended the gala because his "fancy Hollywood actress girlfriend," 24-year-old Amber Tamblyn of "Joan of Arcadia" and "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" fame, got an invite to the ceremony.

No word on whether the stunt was real -- but Cross claimed in the stand-up routine he had evidence to prove he was telling the truth.

"I've got photos of all of this," he bragged.
