Drew Carey Loses 80 Lbs: “I Was Sick of Being Fat”

Drew Carey the healthiest he's looked in his 15+ years on television

The weight is finally right for the "Price is Right" host.

"I was sick of being fat on camera. Really I just got sick of it," newly slimmed down game-show host Drew Carey told People magazine at the "CBS, Showtime and The CW TCA Party" in Beverly Hills on Wednesday.

The diabetic former star of "The Drew Carey Show" detailed the skinny on his weight loss regime, which he credited with helping him lose 80 pounds since January.

"I have cheated a couple of times, but basically no carbs, not even a cracker," Carey, 52, told People.

Carey said that his old diet -- which consisted of pizza, corn, beans and starches -- has been replaced by heathier choices including grilled chicken and steamed vegetables. As far as drinks go, no more coffee, tea or soda. Water is his sole beverage of choice, he said.

Besides the healthier eating habits, Carey dished that he has employed "lots of cardio" on daily workouts.

"About 45 minutes of cardio, at least 45 minutes of cardio," Carey said of the routine.

Carey's pant size has shrunk from a size 44 in January to a 33-34 now, he said. He is aiming to lose an additional 10lbs and become a size 32.

"Once I started losing weight, again, like once I started dropping a couple of pant sizes, then it was easy 'cause once you see the results, then you don't wanna stop," he said.

"It sucks being fat, you know."
