Sandra Bullock's Gulf Spill Plea

Actress records PSA urging help with oil cleanup

Sandra Bullock knows how to pick herself up and dust herself off, and now she's urging fans to pitch in and clean up the Gulf Coast.

Bullock, who adopted her son from New Orleans and now lives in Texas, is one of several stars taking part in Restore the Gulf's "Be the One" campaign. Also pitching in are fellow actors Blake Lively and John Goodman, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning, chef Emeril Lagasse and musicians Dave Matthews and Lenny Kravitz.

"What can you offer?" Bullock asks in the PSA, standing along the coast. "Your voice. Speak up."

The campaign was started by the Women of the Storm, a non-partisan alliance of Louisiana women, to rally support for the cleanup.
