The godfather of film will be shown due respect at the 52nd annual San Francisco Film Festival.
"Genius, visionary, iconoclast, Francis Ford Coppola is one of the towering figures in American and world cinema," the film society's Executive Director Graham Leggat told Variety.
The five-time Academy Award winner and Napa Valley resident has directed the "Godfather" trilogy, "Apocalypse Now" and "American Graffiti."
The festival will also host "An Evening With Francis Ford Coppola and Friends" on May 1 at the Castro Theater in San Francisco. Film clips, including the trailer from his latest piece "Tetro," and an audience question and answer will be held at the event.
