Leaving the histrionics to the stage, Chris Rock has been stealthily using social media to draw attention to the possibility that he's been the victim of racial profiling multiple times in the last couple of months. (As stealth as you can be with 3.2 million Twitter followers and another 192,000 on Instagram.)
"Stopped by the cops again wish me luck," Rock captioned a selfie snapped from the driver's seat of his car and posted to WhoSay on Monday, the glare of what appears to be the blue light of a patrol car behind him.
A perusal down the page shows another selfie posted five weeks earlier, captioned, "I'm not even driving stop by the cops again," in which he appears to be in the backseat of a car.
Another posted two months ago–taken from the driver's seat during the daytime so you can clearly see the patrol car behind him–reads, "Just got pulled over by the cops wish me luck."
A request for comment from Rock's publicist regarding the posts was not immediately returned.
Isaiah Washington apparently took notice of Rock's slow burn, the "Grey's Anatomy" star tweeting at the "Top Five" director, "I sold my $90,000.00 Mercedes G500 and bought 3 Prius's, because I got tired of being pulled over by Police. #Adapt@chrisrock."
And though it took a while for folks to catch on to Rock, Washington's comment was piled on instantly, with most people missing the humor and still others thinking that Washington was actually suggesting he had solved the problem of racial profiling.
"@IWashington@chrisrock Blacks driving beat up cars get stopped, Blacks walking down the street get stopped. It's never about the car," Robert_C pointed out. "Because the car is the problem in that scenario? Right." added K. "@IWashington hasn't owned many cars. Hybrids get pulled over waaaay more," Kevin Alexis warned the actor.

After trying to reason/joke with the commenters, Washington ultimately gave up, tweeting, "Anyway, you millennial's critique and misconstrue my message to @chrisrock I'm getting back to my work to help free all y'all. #Truthdom."
