Dave Grohl wasn't going to let a broken leg keep him away from the stage for too long. On Saturday the 46-year-old Foo Fighters frontman took the stage with his band at a Fourth of July concert at Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium in Washington, D.C., marking the group's first performance since he suffered his injury onstage less than a month ago.

Sporting a purple cast, Grohl sang and rocked out with his electric guitar while sitting on a giant, makeshift throne, decorated with several guitars and stage lights. It's the Iron Throne...of rock!

Grohl broke his leg after falling onstage during the Foo Fighters' concert at Ullevi Stadium in Sweden on June 12. After his injury, he was treated at the scene and continued performing.

He underwent surgery and the band announced days later that they had been forced to cancel their remaining tour dates in Europe and the U.K., including a planned appearance at the 2015 Glastonbury Festival.

Grohl told Saturday's crowd he came up with idea for his chair after taking pain medication.

"I was as high as a kite when I drew that," he said.

The Foo Fighters are due to play Camden, New Jersey on Monday night.
