It's Finally Official! “The Comeback” Is Coming Back

It's official: "The Comeback" will return for a new season of six episodes. E! News previously reported the Lisa Kudrow comedy would begin production this May. A fall release date is eyed.

"It was almost too fun play Valerie Cherish the first time around," Kudrow said in a statement. "I look forward to revisiting this resilient and ironically self-unaware character."

When "The Comeback" returns for a limited series, former sitcom star Valerie Cherish (Kudrow) "thinks she has it all figured out this time," HBO said in a release. "She doesn't."

"In the new episodes, Valerie continues her search to attain the spotlight, but this time around, it illuminates a whole new series of problems when she achieves the visibility she wants," HBO's official description reads.

Michael Patrick King and Kudrow created the beloved series and return as executive producers alongside Dan Bucatinsky.

"'The Comeback' holds a special place in the hearts of its many fans, including many of us here at HBO," Michael Lombardo, president of programming at HBO, said in a statement. "I can't wait to find out what Valerie's been up to since we last met."
