Jimmy Kimmel Named Most Dangerous Celebrity to Search for Online

Jimmy Kimmel may not seem all that dangerous, but he is.

In fact, he's the most dangerous man on the internet.

The "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" host was named the most dangerous celebrity to search for online, according to computer security company McAfee. Kimmel poked fun at the news during Tuesday's show, saying, "They say that if you search my name...there's a one in five chance you'll land on a malicious website."

"It's an honor just to be nominated, but to win this thing [is even better]," he joked, noting that DJ Armin van Buuren was No. 2. "I had no idea who that was so I looked him up and now I have virus."

"Britney Spears is No. 7. Usually it's a woman on top of the list," the late-night comic, 46, continued. "The only other male celebrity to wind up No. 1 was Brad Pitt in 2008 — so there's one more thing Brad Pitt and I have in common. The price of being sexy, I guess. I can't believe I'm the... do you hear that, every girl in school who wouldn't go to the prom with me — which was every girl in the school? Who would have guessed that a boy who used to carry a briefcase in junior high and played the clarinet would end up being the most dangerous person of 2014? You see that, nerds? Anything is possible."

Kimmel added, "If you're going to search for me online, put condoms on your fingers."

Kimmel's name carries a 19 percent chance of landing on a website that has tested positive for spyware, viruses or malware. Other dangerous stars include Ciara (No. 3), Flo Rida (No. 4), Bruce Springsteen (No. 5), Blake Shelton, (No. 6), Jon Bon Jovi (No.8), Chelsea Handler (No. 9) and Christina Aguilera (No. 10).

"Most consumers are completely unaware of the security risks that exist when searching for celebrity and entertainment news, images and videos online, sacrificing safety for immediacy," McAfee's Gary Davis said. "Cybercriminals capitalize on consumers' attention to breaking celebrity news and leverage this behavior to lead them to unsafe sites that can severely infect their computers and devices and steal personal data."

Other stars in McAfee's top 50 include Jimmy Fallon (No. 12), Adam Sandler (No. 14), Jason Segel (No. 19), Kate Winslet (No. 18), Jennifer Lopez (No. 31), Jessica Biel (No. 33) and Jennifer Aniston (No. 37).
