WATCH: Josh Brolin Celebrates the 30th Anniversary of “The Goonies” on “The Tonight Show”

Brolin explained that the cult film has been difficult to top.

Josh Brolin celebrated and lamented the 30th anniversary of “The Goonies” with host Jimmy Fallon on Thursday’s episode of “The Tonight Show.”

“You do a movie like that, you don’t know how it’s going to turn out,” the "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For" actor explained. “Then it turns out to be a cult film and then you’re sick of hearing it after 20 years cause you haven’t done a film that’s any good that matches ‘The Goonies’.”

“No, that’s not true,” Fallon said while laughing.

“No, yeah it is,” Brolin responded. “You’re walking down the street and like 20 years later, they’re like ‘You’re the Goonies dude! Are you still acting?’”

After giving Brolin a red bandana to celebrate the film’s anniversary, Fallon asked him if he would appear sequel.

“I would do it,” Brolin said, but added that rumors about a second installment of the cult film often end up being just rumors.
