Sofia Vergara Receives Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame, Thanks “Modern Family”

Sofia Vergara received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Thursday, just one day before the actress' comedy with Reese Witherspoon, "Hot Pursuit," hits theaters.

Looking stunning in a strapless gold dress by Romona Keveza with her hair in soft waves and sporting bright red lips, the 42-year-old "Modern Family" star appeared ecstatic to be recognized for her achievements in Hollywood–and of course, those close to the actress, including fiance Joe Manganiello were on hand to show their support for the Golden Globe winner.

A number of Vergara's "Modern Family" co-stars, including Julie Bowen and her TV husband Ed O'Neil, as well as co-creators Chris Lloyd and Steven Levitan were present while Eric Stonestreet, who plays Cameron Tucker on the hit ABC show, spoke at the event. Sofia's son Manolo also shared kind words about his mother at the podium and the actress later thanked her only child for "never giving me any problems."

An eyewitness adds that Manganiello, who was seated with Vergara's friends and family, couldn't take his eyes off his bride-to-be and appeared in awe of the actress as she addressed the crowd.

"It is unbelievable for me to be here today standing with all of you," Vergara said. "I don't have anything to say but thank you. The first thanks I have to give is to 'Modern Family'...if they had not invented Gloria Pritchett, I wouldn't be here. I owe everything that I have been able to do in the American market to this amazing character."
