Go ahead. Make his day. As a San Francisco police department inspector, "Dirty Harry" Callahan (played by the ultimate tough guy, Clint Eastwood) enforces his own version of justice, never hesitating to defy his superiors to get the job done. He's also probably the most quotable cop in cinematic history, coining classic lines throughout the Dirty Harry series like, "You've got to ask yourself a question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?"
The annual Harris Poll places the actor, film director, producer and composer as the leading man on the favorite movie star list, up from his spot at number two last year.
Best known for his iconic roles in the Dirty Harry films, Eastwood won Academy Awards for his work on "The Unforgiven" and "Million Dollar Baby" and his most recent film, "Gran Torino," has received a lot of praise.
But to the Bay Area, Eastwood is more than just a big screen legend. He's also a business man and veteran of local political office.
From 1986-1988, he served as the non-partisan mayor of Carmel-by-the-Sea and amassed quite a collection of property in the community. He bought the struggling Mission Ranch Restaurant and property in 1986, saving it from being torn down to build condos. The quaint little place has been a local favorite for decades and makes anyone feel like they're walking into a familiar spot. Its pot-bellied stove was used in his film "The Unforgiven."
The eatery overlooks the property's farm, where sheep graze and deer frolic. Eastwood sank a lot of money into the farmhouse, helping to restore it to it's original 1850s-era look. Its a popular wedding spot these days.
Another favorite for beautiful Carmel weddings and also part of Eastwood's property portfolio is Tehama, which includes a golf club with another restaurant and an exclusive gated community.
