While fans of "New Moon" are howling over the success of the franchise's latest installment, the two big stars of "The Twilight Saga" just started Tweeting.
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart took to Summit's new "Twilight Saga" Twitter account on Monday to show their appreciation for fans after the film placed third in all-time opening weekends, earning $140.7 million. It was the first non-summer film to have reached such high numbers.
"Thank you for making NEW MOON #1," Rob Tweeted to the fans. "It's very exciting to be a part of something embraced by so many people."
He continued in an additional Tweet, "I hope you are looking forward to ECLIPSE as much as I am."
Kristen joined in a couple hours later with, "You all have proven you're the most amazing fans in the world once again. I feel so lucky to be a part of The Twilight Saga and thank you for making us #1!"
"Yes, I twittered," Kristen followed up with. "Or twitted..tweeted? I dunno, but thank you sooo much anyway..!"
After a brief introduction by Peter, Rob tweeted, "Hi, it's Rob … My first and last tweet. My dad made me do it."
