Sam Raimi to Direct World of Warcraft Flick

Beloved action-horror director to helm live-action adaptation of uber-popular video game

Nerds rejoice!

Legendary Pictures and Blizzard Entertainment are set to produce a live-action film set in the video game universe of World of Warcraft, tentatively titled "Warcraft."

And none other than "Evil Dead" auteur Sam Raimi has been selected to direct the project, once he's done with "Spider Man 4".

Orcs and humans alike can all breathe a sigh of relief that video game adaptation hack director Uwe Boll will be no where near the project.

World of Warcraft is a massively multiplayer online game set in a fantasy realm, and owes much to the "Lord of the Rings".

The game has 11.5 million monthly subscribers, or a population nearly equivalent to that of greater New York City.

No word on whether Bruce Campbell has been cast -- he'd make a great Arthas "The Lich King" Menethil.

Jackson West hopes they have a separate line for the Horde at theaters, since the Alliance is so fantastically annoying.
