Three years after battling breast cancer, Christina Applegate is glowing with motherly love.

In a People magazine interview debuting pictures of her newborn Sadie Grace, the "Anchorman" star said that her new motherhood has completely "healed" her.

"I felt my heart literally open up for the first time and like wrap itself around her. It was profound," the 39-year-old actress told People. "And I'm more in love with her every minute of the day."

The movie star's new daughter, born Jan. 27, paved the way for a new chapter in her life. Applegate famously overcame breast cancer with a double mastectomy in 2008 and said she looking forward to being a mother.

"I've had to talk about that word [cancer] more than I've ever had to talk about a word in my life," she said. "After a while you're like, 'There's got to be something else to me.'...Yeah, now I'm Mom. She's healed me in so many ways. She's just made my life so much better. She's opened my whole soul"

Applegate is raising her baby with fiance Martyn LeNoble in their Los Angeles home. She got engaged to the rock star and founding member of the 1990s rock group Porno for Pyros last year on Valentines Day.
