Seventeen year-old pop sensation Justin Bieber just can't live life 140 characters at a time anymore.

The Canadian singer took to - what else? - his Twitter page to announce that he is taking a break from the social media platform.

"I'm just excited at this pt to get on stage and perform. gonna take a little break from twitter and enjoy this time with my family until then," wrote Bieber.

This announcement came on the heels of the discovery that "Bieber Fever" is not enough to secure an audience with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as well as recent concerns about the singer's privacy in the face of increasing paparazzi pressure.

No word on what his 110,000+ followers plan to do now.
