Lady Gaga Talks Heartbreak and Her Father to “Rolling Stone”

Lady Gaga openly admits that if her heart wasn't broken five years ago by her then boyfriend, she would not be the pop sensation and international superstar she is today.

"Well, I've never really loved anyone like I loved him.  Or like I love him.  That relationship really shaped me.  It made me into a fighter," Gaga told "Rolling Stone" in the July issue of the magazine.  She added, "No, I wouldn't have been as successful without him."

The Grammy-winning artist, who has been touring nonstop for nearly two years, goes on to tell the magazine that although she doesn't know much about love, her heartbreak and loves lost is what drives her music and creativity.

"When you work as hard as I do, or resign your life to something like music or art or writing, you have to commit yourself to this struggle and commit yourself to this pain.   And I commit myself to my heartbreak wholeheartedly.  It's something that I will never let go," explained Gaga to "Rolling Stone."

Besides her ex-boyfriend, the other influential man in the life of style-icon, Lady Gaga, happens to be her father.

A once rock musician himself, Gaga's father cut her off after dropping out of college, reports "Rolling Stone."

But Gaga revealed to the magazine that the two have mended their relationship due to a recent health scare where she feared losing her father because of an overdue heart surgery.

"My whole life my dad was trying to hide from me that he was a real dude, and now I'm old enough, we're the best of friends, because he's just given up on trying to be a father," said Gaga to the magazine.

Despite Lady Gaga's heartbreak and trying relationships, she has no plans of slowing down.

Instead she plans on doing just the opposite, by finishing her follow up album, which she said she will announce the title on New Year's Eve, and plotting the visuals for her next tour, reports "Rolling Stone."

Gaga even joked that she is supposed to feel more tired.

"When I wake up in the morning, I feel just like any other insecure 24-year-old girl.  Then I say, (expletive), you're Lady Gaga, you get up and walk the walk today, said the popstar to "Rolling Stone."
