Weezer Returns With No Strings Attached

Weezer is coming back to San Francisco and this time fans won't have to have an illicit relationship with Rupert Murdoch to see them play.

Music lovers may still need to ask the famed Google hater for a loan. Tickets for the Jan. 9 show at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium go on sale this Sunday for $49.50 a piece at Ticketmaster outlets and APEConcerts.com.

The Los Angeles-based rock band last played a semi secret free show in San Francisco in October for MySpace. The only way to get in was wait in a long line and hope to be one of the lucky few to get in or have a friend at the social networking site pull a few strings for you.

The "Buddy Holly" hit makers are embarking on a tour to promote their new album "Raditude," which was released earlier this month.
