And “The Voice” Winner Is…

Javier Colon scores the $100,000 prize, record deal and bragging rights for Team Adam

Javier Colon has been crowned winner of “The Voice.”

The soulful crooner and father of two bested Dia Frampton to win NBC's top-rated singing competition on Wednesday’s finale.

Besides scoring bragging rights for Team Adam, Colon takes home the show's $100,000 prize. He also lands a new record deal, which carries a special significance as the musician was once dropped from a major record label.

“I don’t even know where to begin,” Colon said after learning his fate. He thanked his competitors and “everyone at home for believing in me.”

Frampton, a 23-year-old Utah-based singer-songwriter and children’s book author, was separated from Colon by two percent of the vote, host Carson Daly revealed at the end of Wednesday's broadcast.

Hours earlier, Frampton had soared to top of iTunes with her original song “Inventing Shadows.”

Colon’s original tune, “Stitch by Stitch,” had gone No. 2. But he likely benefited from a last minute endorsement from pop phenomenon Justin Bieber, who tweeted his support ahead of Tuesday’s performances.

"The Voice's" inaugural season began with blind auditions, followed by a series of battle rounds and live shows. It turned out to be a hit for NBC from the get-go.

Tuesday’s final performance show was the highest rated "Voice" in a month, The New York Times reported. The two-hour penultimate episode trounced the competition with 12.5 million viewers and also won the crucial advertiser-friendly 18 to 49-year-old demo, according to Nielsen estimates.

Taking a page from the "American Idol" and "Glee" playbook, the "Voice" Top 8 will hit the road, with six tour dates confirmed already in cities like New York, Boston, and Chicago.

On Wednesday, each of the remaining hopefuls -- Colon, Frampton, Vicci Martinez and Beverly McClellan -- performed a final duet with special guest pro-musicians.

Martinez went first and sang Train’s “Drops of Jupiter” with the group’s frontman, Pat Monahan.

Cee Lo Green, Martinez’s celebrity coach, said he couldn’t think of anyone else to compare her to.

“You are the first Vicci Martinez,” he told the finalist.

Colon sang “Landslide” opposite Stevie Nicks. When they finished Maroon 5 frontman and "Voice" coach Adam Levine said Colon proved he deserved to win the competition.

“That’s the coolest thing you’ve ever done other then have kids and get married, probably,” Levine told his protégé. “That’s one of the most beautiful duets I’ve ever heard in my life.”

Celebrity coach Blake Shelton was similarly smitten by Frampton, who performed “The House That Built Me” alongside the country star’s better half, Miranda Lambert.

“I know now why I get so emotional around you,” Shelton told Frampton. “You’re family to me now and I love you. I really do.”

Beverly McClellan, the tattooed, smooth-headed rocker from Virginia, sang “Good Life” with OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder.

Christina Aguilera called McClellan “such a professional.”

The pop star then turned to her fellow celebrity coaches to thank them, making nice after a season of faux-taunting.

“You guys have felt like the big brothers I’ve never had,” Aguilera said.
