Brooke Burke Tapped to Co-Host “Dancing with the Stars”

Former "Dancing With the Stars" champ Brooke Burke is heading back to the popular ABC show  - but this time she'll leave her toe shoes at home.

The former model and season seven champion will join Tom Bergeron as co-host when the series returns later this month. She replaces former co-host Samantha Harris who is leaving to focus on other projects. Bergeron announced the change on ABC's "Good Morning America" on Monday.

Burke is best known for her work on TV shows including E!'s "Wild On" and CBS's "Rock Star." She reportedly won the gig over another former DWTS contestant, Melissa Rycroft. Ex-MTV VJ Vanessa Manillo was also rumored to be in the running for the job.

Contestants set to perform when the series resumes March 22 include reality star Kate Gosselin, NFL wide receiver Chad Ochocinco, Olympic gold medal figure skater Evan Lycacek and former "Baywatch" star Pamela Anderson.
