“Dancing With the Stars” Elimination Shocker: Bristol Palin Totally Safe!

Joey Fatone gets the boot

It shouldn't surprise anyone that, once again, Dancing With the Stars proved unpredictable in the math department.

But we couldn't help being a little shocked that Bristol Palin, who had the lowest score by three points (the biggest margin separating any two people on the leaderboard) last night, wasn't even in jeopardy on Tuesday's elimination show.

And with her security came the ouster of an all-star who, frankly, performed far better than Bristol.

Joey Fatone, Kelly Monaco and Hlio Castroneves found themselves in the eerie red glow that indicates a celeb is in danger of going home.

And it was fun-loving Joey Fatone, DWTS' fourth-season runner-up, who got the boot.

"First or last, you're always going to have a good time," the onetime 'N Sync singer said good-naturedly before getting the bad news. Needless to say, the audience's collective boo matched a sound with the dismayed look on the judges' faces.

"I'm sad, I'm not going to lie," partner Kym Johnson said afterward.

The ante gets upped next week, when the stars dance again with a double elimination looming.
