Lawrence Beaman made it to the top 10 but didn't take home the main prize.

He came close but was not good enough to best a chicken farmer.

Walnut Creek's Lawrence Beaman made it all the way to the top 10 on America's Got Talent but he didn't take home the grand prize.

On Wednesday night, a chicken farmer crowned as the grand prize winner of this season's group, knocking Beaman out. But, he says, his his dream has really come true.
   
You won't have to go to far if you can't get enough of the Mississippi native. Of course, he has his own Web site. But he might also be spotted in the Bay Area.

"I love the Layfayette Reservoir since I'm in Walnut Creek. I love jogging it. Basically, I love the bay."

The show's winner, Kevin Skinner, gets a $1 million prize and he will be headlining a show in Vegas.
