“Dr. Phil” Lands Casey Anthony Parents

"We are hoping that by doing this interview, we will be able to help other people who may be experiencing struggles of their own”

Casey Anthony’s parents are headed to “Dr. Phil’s” couch.

TV shrink Dr. Phil McGraw announced Tuesday he’d scored an exclusive interview with George and Cindy Anthony to kick off the new season of his talk show on Sept. 12.

"Cindy and George have suffered a horrific loss with the untimely death of their granddaughter Caylee, and they have since endured an unprecedented public attack on their family," McGraw said in a statement to People.

McGraw said to judge whether those attacks were warranted he looked the couple “straight in the eye” and asked them tough questions.

“Nothing is off limits during this interview," he said.

Casey Anthony's parents have maintained a low-profile since their daughter was acquitted of murder in July and went into hiding.

But they surfaced at a public memorial for Caylee Aug. 9 at the Fla. woods where the child's body was found. They helped mark what would have been their granddaughter's sixth birthday by releasing balloons and butterflies.

"We didn't know how we'd be perceived," George Anthony told Orlando’s Local 6 News afterward. "It's just a great tribute to our Caylee. It's a great tribute to her.”

People reported that the couple would not benefit financially from their first post-verdict sit-down.

Instead, an undisclosed amount would be donated their charity, “Caylee’s Fund.” The funds will help “focus on promoting processes to educate the public about – and advocate for grandparents' rights," McGraw said.

Cindy Anthony said in a statement that there was “no better place” to speak out than on “Dr. Phil.”

"We are hoping that by doing this interview, we will be able to help other people who may be experiencing struggles of their own,” she said. “We certainly don’t want anyone to experience what we have these last three years."
