Shucks! Looks like there won't be a second season of caribou-hunting family adventures with the Palins on TLC.
"Sarah Palin's Alaska" was not renewed for a second season and this Sunday's two-hour season finale will be its last, Entertainment Weekly reported.
"Alaska" started off strong with a record number of five million viewers when it premiered Nov. 14, but ratings dropped 40 percent for the second episode.
TLC hasn't provideda reason why the show is ending, which chronicles the life and times of the former Vice-Presidential candidate, hubby Todd, her kids and other relatives.
But Entertainment Weekly speculates that Palin didn't want to commit to another season because it would be interpreted as a sign she didn't want to run for office. Also TLC would have to provided equal attention to candidates if she did decide to run.
This season, the show has been loaded with family lessons and heartfelt moments with the hockey mom.
"I'd rather be doing this than in some stuffy old political office," Palin said on the show about enjoying the Alaska Wilderness.
Not everyone appreciated Palin's rough-n-tumble ways. "The Social Network" screenwriter Aaron Sorkin blasted the Tea Party darling for shooting a caribou on television, calling her a "witless bully." The internet fight ignited a firestorm of Facebook.
