Rosie O'Donnell is getting the keys to Oprah Winfrey's Harpo stage in Chicago.

Following Winfrey's last Windy City show, O'Donnell will take over the studio to tape her new daytime talk show, scheduled for the fall on The Oprah Winfrey Network, the Sun-Times reports.

The announcement follows Harpo Productions' news Friday that the last episode of "The Oprah Winfrey" show will air on May 25. O'Donnell's one-hour show takes the stage at West Washington Boulevard and North Carpenter Street a few months later.

In a taped message, O'Donnell addressed the Harpo staff.  “Thank you, Oprah. And thank all you people there. Some of you are going to be sticking around and helping us make a kick-ass show for the Oprah Winfrey Network.”

O’Donnell and Harpo Studios will produce the new show. It's not known how many "Oprah Winfrey Show" employees will help out.

Besides her regular Sirius XM radio show, O'Donnell formerly hosted “The Rosie O’Donnell Show” from 1996-2002 and served as co-host on “The View" for a year.

Winfrey announced last week that she would wind up her long running daytime talk show on May 25.

The media icon will move her operations to Los Angeles where she'll run her OWN network.

In a statement Tuesday, Winfrey says she's delighted to welcome O'Donnell to the studio that's been her home for years.
