RatDog Canceled Tour Dates Have Deadheads Worried About Bob Weir

The former Grateful Dead guitarist has canceled all upcoming tour dates, leading to speculation about his well-being

Bob Weir is not going out on tour.

Unspecified and unknown "circumstances" have led the Grateful Dead guitarist, 66, to abruptly cancel all tour dates for an upcoming monthlong swing through the United States with his band RatDog, which was to begin in Boston later this week, according to reports.

Weir made the announcement via his Facebook page and band's Web site on Sunday -- which, as the day after the anniversary of Jerry Garcia's 1995 death, is somewhat unsettling for Deadheads.

Tour dates in Boston and Nashville as well as a destination concert in Jamaica in January 2015 were canceled without reason. Refunds were offered, according to reports.

Weir has missed other shows recently due to health issues, including one date with Furthur, fellow Dead alumnus Phil Lesh's band. And then, of course, there was that bizarre night at Sweetwater in Marin in 2013.
