'The Mindy Project' filmed in San Francisco on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, stopping at locations including Lombard Street, City Lights and the Golden Gate Bridge.

Mindy Kaling took a whirlwind tour of San Francisco on Tuesday, shooting scenes for her sitcom "The Mindy Project."

Kaling, who plays an obstetrician/gynecologist on the show, filmed mainly with Chris Messina, her on-screen love interest and fellow OB/GYN. Judging by the stops (and Kaling's Instagram account), the fictional pair planned a romantic and picturesque visit.

    That grin, though

The Bold Italic spotted the pair in front of the Painted Ladies Victorian houses on Steiner Street and near the Golden Gate Bridge. Kaling and Messina also shot scenes by a cable car, on the crooked part of Lombard Street and at City Lights bookstore.

The day culminated with an intimate al fresco dinner scene shot at waterfront restaurant Epic Roasthouse under the lights of the Bay Bridge.

"They dined on clam chowder, the Epic burger and fries and meatballs," reveals the restaurant's publicist Morgan Moore.

The show airs Tuesdays on Fox.
