Santa Clara Police Arrest San Francisco 49ers Player Bruce Miller for Spousal Battery

San Francisco 49ers fullback Bruce Miller was arrested Thursday on the charge of spousal battery, according to the Santa Clara Police arrest log.

“The San Francisco 49ers organization is aware of the matter involving Bruce Miller,” the team said in a release. “We were disappointed to learn of these reports and will do our due diligence in collecting all relevant information.”

A spokesman for the police department said the results of the investigation have been forwarded to the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s office.

Miller, 27, is coming off the first season of a three-year, $5.4 million contract extension with the 49ers, agreed upon in March of 2014.

The four-year NFL veteran has 66 catches for 599 yards and three touchdowns -- all with the 49ers. He caught 18 passes for 189 yards and two scores last year, playing in all 16 games and starting eight for San Francisco.

The 49ers selected Miller in the seventh round (211th overall) in the 2011 NFL Draft.

Miller's arrest is the 11th arrest for the team since 2012.
