Hugh Jackman and Nick Offerman teamed up against Jimmy Fallon and Susan Sarandon for a hilarious "Tonight Show" version of the famous TV game show “Password.”

In the innuendo-filled game, contestants give each other one-word clue’s in hopes that their partner will guess the secret “password.” If they fail, the opposing team gets a shot at the clue.

The “Wolverine” star went first and had to describe “Dolphin” to his partner Offerman. Jackman hinted the word “flipper” and the “Parks and Rec” actor effortlessly answered correctly.

Next, it was Sarandon’s turn to give the “Tonight Show” host his clue: “oyster.”

“Oh God, this is not easy,” the actress griped.

The Academy Award winner struggled to brainstorm the perfect word, and even resorted to using a little ESP as she stared deeply into Fallon's eyes. It worked.

“Pearl,” Sarandon said.

“Oyster,” Fallon responded.

In the third round, the game intensified as the password “toupee" proved to be hard to describe in one word. Fallon apprehensively said “piece” and Sarandon, confusing it for “peace,” replies “war.”

Luckily for Jackman, adding “rug” to Fallon’s original clue provided enough information for Offerman to guess the hairpiece correctly, and gave their team the lead.

The last clue “feather,” though seemingly easy, also proved difficult for Offerman to characterize in one word, sending the password to team Fallon.

In the end, the host and actress were able to even the game after Fallon responded correctly to Sarandon's clue: "bird."

“Its a tie!” Fallon wailed. “Then we’re going to have a rematch. You guys have to come back tomorrow night.”

Jackman, who stopped by the show Monday to promote his latest movie "Pan," eagerly accepted the challenge. The actor also taught Fallon the proper way to eat a Vegemite sandwhich after hearing the host talk "smack" about Australia's famous spread.

Charlize Theron is known for her flawlessly elegant red-carpet flair. But she may need to fire her new stylist after this fashion faux pas.

The actress stopped by the “Tonight Show” Monday to talk about her latest movie “Mad Max: Fury Road,” when Jimmy Fallon suggested they “slip into something more comfortable,” before continuing with the interview. The kicker: Fallon and Theron would each choose what the other person should wear.

“I was a little surprised when I found this in my dressing room,” Fallon said of his pink pantsuit, fur vest, auburn bowl-cut wig, and pink-rimmed sunglasses.

"I thought it would make your shoulders smaller," Theron giggled.

“Am I a man or a woman?” Fallon asked.

“You’re a woman,” the “Monster” star told the host. “Your name is Rosetta McLintock.”

Theron was dressed equally eccentric in a metallic rainbow top, gold lamé balloon pants, a Kentucky Derby-styled fascinator hat and a wild curly wig that was so overwhelming it prompted the Oscar winner to drop an f-bomb. How does Diana Ross do it?

The pair attempted to come up with personality traits for the characters they created for one another. Fallon concluded that Theron would be dubbed “Bonanza,” and she “played bass with Prince for a while.”

“Would you mind playing a little riff for us tonight?” Fallon asked before making the South African actress pick up a guitar.

McClintock, who looked like a cross between Elton John and Mike Myers in “Austin Powers,” boogied with his dice-heeled leopard booties while Bonanza slapped the bass with The Roots.

Friday was a beautiful day on "The Tonight Show."

Bono and U2 lit up the "Tonight" studio (and one surprising place in New York) in the band's first public performance since their singer's debilitating cycling accident.

On the eve of their "iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE" tour, the hugely popular Irish rock band went incognito in the bustling 42nd St. subway station beneath Manhattan's Grand Central Terminal.

Clad in atrociously fake moustaches, the band — joined by Jimmy Fallon disguised as a street hawker — played a gritty rendition of their 1987 mega-hit "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For."

When that failed to attract much attention from the hurried commuters, Fallon switched to "Plan B": They ripped off their disguises and launched into a powerhouse performance of "Desire," as a crowd of fans danced and cheered around the rock group.

Back in Studio 6B, the band performed two songs: the classic "Beautiful Day" and "Song for Someone," off their new album "Songs of Innocence," Rolling Stone's 2014 album of the year.

On the studio interview couch, Bono opened up about his "awful" cycling accident in Central Park that had U2 fans wondering if he could ever pick up a guitar again.

“There was nothing cool about it," he told Fallon. "There was Lycra involved.”

“At least it wasn’t a scooter,” the Edge said.

But the rock star did manage to climb onto a bike again. Fallon joined him (astride a bedazzled pink-and-white cruiser) for a leisurely bit of pedaling on the sidewalk outside 30 Rock.

Bono seemed to have the biking down pat — until a van careened down the street and, apparently, straight into the seemingly accident-prone musician.

"Bono!" Fallon yelped as the singer struggled to his feet. "Are you okay?"

"I'm good, Jimmy," he said through gritted teeth. "Just a couple of scratches."

<![CDATA[WATCH: "Anna Wintour, Comedy Icon"]]> Thu, 07 May 2015 05:09:54 -0700 http://media.nbcbayarea.com/images/213*120/Meyers+Anna+Wintour+Interview.JPG

Anna Wintour is best known for being the influential editor-in-chief of American Vogue, but most people are surprised to learn that she is also a comedy icon.

Seth Meyers revealed that the heroine of the fashion world is also the Executive Producer of “Late Night,” and has been behind “every major comedy decision in the last 40 years.”

“‘Saturday Night Live’ was her idea, she directed ‘Animal House,’ and she told Jerry Seinfeld the show should be about nothing,” Meyers divulged during an interview.

The host premiered his mockumentary “Anna Wintour: Comedy Icon,” in which the infamous editor takes on the roll of Meyers’ boss in a behind-the-scene’s look at “Late Night.”

Playing off of Wintour’s reputation for being an intimidating and demanding boss, Meyers fearfully tip-toes around the fashion icon, while the “Late Night” staff comes to work dressed up in tuxedoes and ballgowns.

“Seth, I don’t understand this part of the sketch,” Wintour questions during a script meeting with Meyers. “Why is Abraham Lincoln driving a BMW? Wouldn’t it be much funnier if he were driving a Lincoln?”

At “The Anna Wintour Show,” as one writer calls it, the woman who inspired Meryl Streep’s character in “The Devil Wears Prada,” is the “creative engine” behind "Late Night." And though she's a difficult boss to please, nothing seems to make Meyers happier than getting Wintour's stamp of approval.

"She pushes you really hard, but the sketch is 100 times better," Meyers whimpers. "I try so hard for her."

"Oh, stop crying," Wintour scolds as she walks past the host. "You're a grown man."

Wintour also critiqued the fashions at the Met Gala — themed “Chinese White Tie” —
which seemed to confuse many of the invited guests and flooded the Vogue office’s with calls requesting an explanation.

“I made it up” Wintour admitted. “It basically means white-tie with a touch of China.”

The Vogue editor applauded the men, who stuck to the theme of the night better than the women, and spoke highly of Justin Bieber, Dwyane Wade, George Clooney and her BFF Kanye West.

“I adore Kanye,” Wintour said. “He likes to talk to about anything, and I like to listen. So we have a very close relationship.”

“That’s a perfect match,” Meyers joked.
