BART Service Interrupted Due to Man on Tracks

The man was detained at 7:44 p.m. and is in custody

BART service through the Transbay Tube was restored around 8:15 p.m. Sunday, after a man who walked into the tunnel was detained, BART officials said this evening.

The man was spotted walking into the tube around 6:46 p.m. by a surveillance camera, BART spokesman Jim Allison said.

BART service in the tube was shut down, causing major delays, while BART police entered the tube to conduct a search.

The man was detained at 7:44 p.m. and is in custody, Allison said.
