SJ 20th Homicide Suspect Arrested

San Jose police have arrested a man in connection with the city's 20th homicide this year.

David Smythe, 36, of San Jose was taken into custody on Sunday for the stabbing of 41-year-old Harry Clark last Friday night.  That's when police responded to a report of a person down and found someone lying in a parking lot of the 1300 block of Winchester Blvd.

When police arrived, they found Clark was suffering from at least one stab wound, and he was pronounced dead about 11:36 p.m.

The motive is unclear, but police are saying they don't believe this was gang related.

San Jose Police are urging anyone with information regarding the case to call the Homicide Unit at 408-277-5283. To give an anonymous tip call 408-947-STOP (7867) or visit www.svcrimestoppers.org. Some callers may be eligible for a reward.
