9 Passengers Removed from United Flight

Nine passengers boarding a United Airlines plane Sunday night at Dulles International Airport were removed before takeoff after one made a comment to a crew member, an airline spokeswoman said.

United Airlines spokeswoman Megan McCarthy said Monday that she did not have any information on what was said but confirmed that the passengers exited the aircraft.

The incident occurred on a United Airlines flight bound for Tampa, Fla., from Dulles, McCarthy said.

Airport police spoke with crew members, but none of the passengers were detained, said spokeswoman Courtney Mickalonis of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.

The nine passengers were re-booked on a Monday flight, McCarthy said.
