500 Jobs Up For Grabs in SF Today

These signs are getting harder and harder to find in the Bay Area.

Nearly every day it seems someone we know loses their job.

The state's unemployment is in the double digits, but that does not mean companies aren't hiring.

Today in San Francisco a job fair promises 500 open positions are available to be filled in a variety of industries.

The event is being held at Hotel Whitcomb, which is next to the Civic Center BART station from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Here are the listed employers according to Job Journal who will be there looking for potential hires:

Also, starting tonight in the South Bay a church is getting in on the job hunting act. 

The Cathedral of Faith's WorkLife Ministry is holding a series of workshops to help the unemployed in their job search.

The series is intended to give the essential ingredients you need to find a job.

It's not free.  The series will cost you $100 for all the materials.
