Thousands of solar company employees will receive millions -- not BTUS and not from the sun, but cash money and from a bankrupt Solyndra.
Bankrupt Fremont-based solar company Solyndra will pay out $3.5 million to 1,100 employees laid off when the company went belly-up, according to the Oakland Tribune.
The company closed its doors without warning in August 2011. It has since become a political symbol, due to the $535 million in federal loans it received.
Employees sued the company, saying that they did not receive requisite 60 days' notice. A judge agreed.
