The City's on going War on Fun  will be back in court Monday as locals push for the San Francisco Police Department to take a more active role in regulating night clubs. This week's focus: San Francisco's "troubled" nightlife scene,

A group of North Beach residents put together a Web site called ResidentsCentral.com to get San Francisco politicians to take the regulating powers of City nightclubs out of the hands of the Entertainment Commission and into police mitts.

The group claims the out of town nightclub crowd is responsible for "violent crime, murder, prostitution, public urination and defecation and any host of problems that the city has been facing for decades."

One major bone of contention is the connection between several San Francisco politicians, including Mayor Gavin Newsom, with individual commissioners and the nightlife scene.

A hearing in City Hall Room 263 at 1 p.m. Monday, will discuss giving the commission the power to write tickets for minor club slip ups before having to revoke individual permits for major infractions.
