Los Angeles police arrested a basketball coach on Monday on suspicion of secretly filming players in his home's bathroom in 2013.
Michael Robert Miller, 50, owned and operated a college preparatory program for aspiring college athletes from his East Los Angeles home, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police say it was at Miller’s home where one of his players found a camera filled with images of fellow players in the bathroom. The player took the memory card to the police.
At least three players also came forward, alleging Miller touched them inappropriately, police said.
After an 11-month investigation, Miller was arrested and charged with eight counts of illegally secretly filming players, who are adults, without permission and one count of sexual battery, police said.
Miller could be jailed for six months for each count if convicted, according to the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office. Jail records show Miller was out on bond.
He used to coach at Ribet Academy and Cathedral High School, and was a coach at Los Angeles City College for 17 years, City News Service reported.
